“As Goes The South” Film Screening & Conversation
We invite you to the Montgomery film screening of As Goes The South on Thursday, January 8, at 5:30 pm. Doors open at 4:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Film screening will conclude with a brief talk back. The event is hosted by Kalonji A. Gilchrist of KHARI Creative, 21 Dreams Arts & Culture and the Good People community of Montgomery.

STILL I RISE • FEBRUARY EXHIBITION
Still I Rise explores the continuum of Black creativity honoring the resilience forged in our past while imagining futures defined by liberation, innovation, and boundless possibility. This exhibition invites works that bridge memory and imagination, celebrating the evolution of Black art, culture, and forward vision.
ARTIST ELIGIBILITY
This is a juried exhibition presented in partnership with Alabama State University for Black History Month, February 2026. All artists are welcome to apply. Submitted works must reflect or relate to the exhibition theme. Rarely displayed or new artwork is strongly encouraged. There is no entry fee.

- Drawing
- Photography
- Mixed Media
- Digital Art
- Printmaking
- Sculpture
Artwork Requirements:
- Must be original.
- No size restrictions
- Must arrive ready to display: stretched canvas, framed, mounted, or properly wired for hanging. No exceptions.
Applicants must upload:
- Artist resume or biography
- Up to five (5) artwork images for consideration
- Artwork details (title, medium, size, year)
TIMELINE
Submission Deadline: Jan. 5, 2026
Finalists Announced: Jan. 10, 2026
Opening Reception: Feb. 3, 2026
